斯里兰卡人民将大规模庆祝佛教重要节日—波桑节

据斯里兰卡《每日时报》报道，斯里兰卡人民将在密兴多列和阿努拉德普勒两地大规模庆祝斯里兰卡佛教重要节日——波桑节。预计约15万信众将参加此次活动。

据悉，阿努拉德普勒位于斯里兰卡中北部。在打败泰米尔猛虎恐怖主义之前，佛教和其他宗教信众到斯里兰卡北部，中北部和东部省份的重要宗教场所去是不可能的。

相关政府人员表示，他们已为信众提供了所有设施，包括五个为信众提供干净饮水的水槽车，修建半永久性卫生间等，并采取严密的安全防卫系统以来确保阿努拉德普勒市民安全。

波桑节（Poson Full Moon Day）是为纪念印度阿育王之子摩哂陀长老来到斯里兰卡传播佛教而设。于每年公历5月或6月的月圆日被庆祝。（编译：子规）

This year’s Poson festival one of main national festivals, will be celebrated on a grand scale after defeating the LTTE terrorists who had made it impossible for Buddhist and other religious pilgrims to visit important places in the north, north central and eastern provinces.

The main Poson festival to mark the advent of Arahant Mahinda, called Mahindagamanaya will be held at Mihintale and Anuradhapura on a grand scale. Nearly 1.5 million pilgrims are expected at Anuradhapura, District Secretary H.M. K. Herath told the Daily News yesterday.

“We are providing all the facilities to devotees in collaboration with the Anuradhapura Municipal Council and NGOs.

Five water bowsers would be used to provide clean drinking water to devotees. Semi-permanent toilets have also been built,” Herath said. Strict security measures are to be adopted in and around the city of Anuradhapura for civilian safety.
