印INTACH呼吁总理管理维萨卡帕特南佛教文化遗址

据《thehindu》报道，近日，印度国家艺术与文化遗产信托基金会（INTACH）维萨卡帕特南分会呼吁印度总理、也是印度联合内阁文化部长派遣印度考古调查局接管托特拉康达（Thotlakonda)和巴比昆达(Bevikornda)两处佛教文化遗址。

据维萨卡帕特南分会召集人Rani Sarma表示，印度托特拉康达和巴比昆达两处佛教文化遗址经常被人毁坏，并且人们对遗址的毁坏已经习以为常，如不立刻采取措施的话，不久，它们将永远的消失，给维萨卡帕特南市、安得拉邦乃至全国造成无法挽回的损失。而给总理的信件也是基于这个事实的需要而写的。

在努力了5年多来拯救佛教遗址后，印度国家艺术与文化遗产信托基金会把向印度总理呼吁做为最后的手段。

印度总理办公室一接到信件便立刻回复并指挥新德里印度考古调查局派遣官员调查该遗址、报告有关情况。

托特拉康达（Thotlakonda)为古代佛教用地的遗址，位于距离维沙卡帕特南16公里的一座山顶上。在泰卢固语中，托特意为“水池”，康达意为“山”，托特拉康达意为“水中之山”。这里的考古发掘出一大片寺庙区，包括一座大佛塔，一些半圆形和圆形拱顶的庙殿，几座还愿佛塔和数个石砌的水池，以及一座大会厅，一些耐火材料和几条小径，还有不少罗马和萨陀伐诃那的钱币和灰泥残块，其日期可测定为公元前3世纪到公元3世纪。（编译：子规）

ASI inspects Buddhist sites

VISAKHAPATNAM: The Visakhapatnam chapter of INTACH has appealed to the Prime Minister who is also the Minister of Culture in the Union Cabinet, to take over the ancient Buddhist sites of Thotlakonda and Bavikonda under the purview of Archaeological Survey of India.

Such a letter was necessitated by the fact that the ancient sites of Thotlakonda and Bavikonda are routinely subjected to vandalism and if measures are not taken urgently, they would be obliterated completely before long, resulting in irrevocable loss of heritage to not only the city of Visakhapatnam but also the State of Andhra Pradesh and the whole country, according to the convener of the local chapter Rani Sarma.

Having struggled to save the Buddhist sites for well over five years , the INTACH appealed to the Prime Minister as a last resort, she stated.

On receiving the letter, the Prime Minister’s Office had responded immediately and directed ASI, New Delhi to depute an officer to inspect the site and report back to it.
